PLAN is a measurement tool that provides a midpoint review of 10th graders' progress toward college and workforce readiness when there's still time to make adjustments. PLAN scores can tell you a lot of information about your child's skills in four core subject areas:

English,
Mathematics,
Reading, and
Science.

The PLAN for Homeschool packet includes the following items:

Testing booklet titled Sample Test Booklet and Answer Sheet
Using Your PLAN Results brochure—a brief overview of score results and the process
College Readiness Standards handbook—a handbook that provides ideas for progress in each subject to prepare students for college or the workforce

PLAN can help answer three important questions about your child's skills.

Where does my son or daughter stand right now?

The PLAN Sample Test scores will show your child's strengths and weaknesses in the four core subject areas. The scores will also allow you to see how your child's academic achievement compares to that of other students in the same grade level across the country.

How can I help my son or daughter advance in the four core subject areas?

Included in your PLAN packet is the College Readiness Standards™ booklet. This booklet includes a section called "ideas for progress" that provides ideas for advancing your child's learning in all four core subject areas, based on his or her PLAN Sample Test scores. Curriculum choices can be made around the information outlined in the Standards. The rows labeled "ideas for progress" suggest learning experiences from which students might benefit.

How do I know if my child is on track for college?

The PLAN Sample Test results can help to ensure that your child is acquiring the knowledge and skills associated with success in first-year college courses.
